At Chattahoochee Animal Clinic, we are proud to provide advanced surgical care combined with attentive post-surgical monitoring using modern veterinary equipment and techniques. Our experienced veterinarians—including Dr. Smith, Dr. Dianne Dawkins, and Dr. Tracy Adams—perform a wide range of surgical procedures with a strong focus on patient safety, comfort, and successful outcomes.
Prior to any surgical procedure, your pet will receive a complete physical examination along with pre-anesthetic blood testing. Using our onsite laboratory, we are able to evaluate important health markers and identify conditions that may not be detectable during a physical exam alone. We also offer pre-surgical ECG's to ensure the safest surgical outcomes. While anesthesia always carries some level of risk, this thorough pre-surgical evaluation helps us minimize those risks and prepare for a safe and successful procedure.
During surgery, your pet is closely monitored using many of the same monitoring techniques used in human medicine. Intravenous (IV) fluids are administered throughout the procedure to maintain blood pressure and help the body cope with the stress of anesthesia and surgery. An IV catheter is also placed so medications can be administered quickly if needed. Our team provides proactive pain management and continuous monitoring during recovery to ensure your pet remains comfortable and to detect any potential complications as early as possible.
