Chattahoochee animal clinic monthly specials

Every now and then we need a great story to lift us up for the day. This story is about an Angel's Among Us Rescue Dog named Brina. She was found on the street after being hit by a car. She had multiple injuries and was not able to walk in the rear limbs. Now, had she been found by animal control or even a good samaritan, her likely end game scenerio would have been humane euthanasia. However, when Angels Among Us (AAU) intervenes they give pups just like Brina a fighting chance. She was brought to our hospital in Roswell last week, with multiple skin injuries, severe lacerations to the tongue and inside area of the mouth.  She had no neurological function in the rear limbs at the time of admission to our veterinary hospital. She was stabilized with supportive care treatments and given antibiotics and pain medication. The following day, she had partial function of one leg and still no function in the other. AAU gave us the "go ahead" to repair the mouth and re-construct the gumline, which went very well. The following day, we re-assessed her neurological status and she was up and walking with assistance...AMAZING. The staff at Chattahoochee Animal Clinic spent the next day doing various rehab techniques on her rear limbs and then she headed out of the hospital to be with a foster until she finds a forever home. This is just another great example of the resiliency in dogs and cats. She may still require surgery down the road, but her steady positive progress has been incredibly encouraging.
