Why you ask? Well, lets start with the 4th of July cook-outs. Many people will have guests over to the house, which will be a loud and potentially chaotic event. This can create a scary situation for a dog, but can also lead to dogs and cats getting out unnoticed, and eating things they should not, such as those yummy brats.
The next problem that may occur for our pets are the ones that come along for the cook-outs and outdoor activities that are outside in the hot, humid environment here in Roswell, Georgia. Heat stress and heat stroke are high risk in the upcoming days.
Lastly, those beautiful fireworks at night can push a dog's nerves to the edge. Especially, those who are storm phobic. These dogs may become destructive in the house or even try to break out of the house through the window. Not a happy night for our dogs and cats.
So, lets make it a point to ensure that our pets enjoy the holiday weekend and stay safe. Happy 4th of July from the CAC family to yours.
